The Colombian Afro-Punk band based in New-York, has drawn from its south-american roots again for a 4th album that has a meaning name : “Mezcla” / “mix” released today via Glitterbeat Records.
The 8 members of M.A.K.U. Soundsystem, keep on mixing music from all over the world : from cumbia to afrobeat, funk, hip-hop or afro-punk. A true musical round-the-world trip !
With activist lyrics, about identity and immigration, with drums and brass rythms, M.A.K.U. Soundsystem ‘s new album “Mezcla” sounds like a melting-pot celebration and an invitation to dance !
To think and dance.
From ‘La Inevitabile.’
Cards on the table
love and resistance
For it is inevitable
to hear the voices
of all colours
when in mixing and coming together
they represent
the rhythm of our beating hearts
